The Legend of Gok Jai Lau
"Gok Jai Lau" is a renowned Chinese restaurant with a legacy spanning over 80 years, recognized as the original creator of durian mooncake filling, the first in the world to introduce this innovation.
Established in 1944 (B.E. 2487), the restaurant was originally located in China Town, Bangkok. In 1984 (B.E. 2527), after its lease expired, it relocated to Charoen Rad, Khlong San, Bangkok and was renamed “Gok Jai Jao Lao.”
The restaurant preserves its original recipes and quality, with the founder’s son passing down its legacy to the third generation, ensuring its traditions endure.


Mooncakes, Food, and Bakery
Gokjai offers a diverse selection of mooncakes, featuring flavors such as Monthong Durian, traditional Five Nuts with Ham, Lotus Seed with Macadamia, Black Bean, Green Tea, Black Sesame, Chinese Jujube, White Bean, and a Plant-Based Five Nuts option. Vegetarian mooncakes are also available.
Gokjai Restaurant continues to serve classic Chinese cuisine, specializing in Cantonese dishes and dim sum. We also offer auspicious festival foods and baked goods, as well as wedding and engagement treats and convenient snack boxes.
In 2024 (B.E. 2567), Gokjai celebrates its 80th anniversary. Founded as Gok Ji Lua in Bangkok's Chinatown, we remain committed to preserving our original flavors while innovating and developing new culinary creations. We strive to continue our legacy as a legendary Chinese restaurant in Thailand.
